Voluntary Plans

Supplemental Medical Plans pay a fixed, one-time benefit amount which you can use for any purpose you like. It can help pay for expenses not covered by your healthcare plan (such as your deductible or copays), lost income, childcare, travel to and from treatment, home healthcare costs, or any of your regular household expenses.

What’s great about these plans are that they complement your existing healthcare coverage, filling in the gaps and offering financial support where it’s needed most. The best part? It’s entirely up to you. These plans are 100% voluntary, allowing you to choose the coverage that fits your lifestyle and priorities. It’s insurance that puts you in control, providing peace of mind when life takes unexpected turns.

Voluntary Accident Plan – MetLife

Accident coverage can help protect your family against many of the unexpected financial burdens that an accidental injury can bring about.

Some of the most common injuries include:

  • Broken bones
  • Burns
  • Lacerations
  • Accidental injuries that send you to the Emergency Room

Payments are made directly to you if you are injured due to an accident. In addition, the plan also provides a $50 wellness benefit per covered person, per calendar year for a covered wellness test.

The voluntary accident plan offers a cash benefit to help pay for out-of pocket expenses resulting from covered injuries or accidents. If you or a covered family member is involved in an accident, the plan will pay a lump sum benefit based on a predetermined schedule of benefits. You pay for it through biweekly payroll deductions. See Sample Reimbursements for examples of benefits you may receive for covered services.
